Privacy Policy
TextByte is a business messaging platform for businesses in the United States. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information you give us — your name, email, mobile number (if you provide it), and, for businesses that sign up, your company and registration details.
- Content in the product — the contacts, conversations, and messages your business creates and manages inside TextByte.
- Usage information — basic information about how you use this website, collected as described under “Cookies and analytics.”
Text messages and your mobile number
If you give us your mobile number and check the consent box, you agree to receive text messages from TextByte — for example, early-access and account updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Providing your mobile number is optional and is never required to use TextByte.
How we use information
We use information to operate and improve TextByte, provision and register your phone number, deliver and support your messaging, keep the service secure, and communicate with you. We handle everything on your behalf so you never have to manage carrier setup yourself.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your mobile number or your text-message opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
To run the service, we share only the information necessary with the providers that transmit messages, provision numbers, secure sign-in, and support address lookup — and only so they can perform those functions for us. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Where your data lives and how we protect it
- US-hosted. TextByte and the data in it are hosted in the United States.
- Isolated at the database level. Each customer’s workspace is separated from every other customer’s data by controls enforced in the database itself.
- Encrypted in transit with TLS, and your per-tenant messaging credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.
Cookies and analytics
- In the product. When you’re signed in to TextByte, the only cookie we set is the one that keeps you logged in. The product contains no advertising or third-party tracking.
- On this website. These marketing pages use a third-party website-analytics service that sets cookies to help us understand how visitors find and use the site. This is limited to this website and separate from the product.
Retention and your choices
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet our legal and messaging-compliance obligations, and resolve disputes. You can:
- opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP;
- request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing us — we’ll respond as required by applicable law.
Children and intended use
TextByte is a tool for businesses and is not directed to children. It’s intended for business-to-customer messaging, not personal use, and is available in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update this page. Your continued use of TextByte means you accept the updated policy.
